Visitors are often surprised that the most-booked luxury vehicle in Malaysia wears a Toyota badge. Residents are not. The Vellfire and its sibling the Alphard are the regional standard for family travel, airport runs and corporate movement, and the reason is simple: the second-row seats are better than those in most executive sedans, and there are five more seats behind them.
The 2024 ZG Edition is the sportier-looking of the two on the same platform — a more aggressive front treatment, larger wheels, and typically the better value against an equivalently specified Alphard. Inside, the middle row gets captain's chairs with powered recline and ottomans, the sliding doors open to a flat floor rather than a step, and the cabin is quiet enough to hold a conversation at highway speed.
Why it beats an SUV for groups. A Range Rover or G63 seats five and their luggage. The Vellfire seats seven and their luggage, and the third row is usable by adults rather than a formality. For a GCC family arriving at KLIA with three generations and a week of bags, this is the only sensible car in the fleet.
Airport work. The sliding doors matter more than they sound at a kerbside. Loading a family and luggage at KLIA arrivals is measurably faster than with a conventional SUV, and the flat floor means nobody climbs. Pair the Vellfire with our KLIA transfer service for flight tracking and meet-and-greet.
Chauffeur. Most Vellfire bookings are chauffeur-driven, which is how the car is designed to be used — the rear cabin is the product. Self-drive is straightforward if you prefer; visibility is excellent and it is easier to park than its length suggests.
