Vantage or DB11
The two Aston Martins in the VELO catalogue answer different questions.
The Vantage is the sports car. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG, an electronic rear differential, and a wheelbase short enough to make it genuinely playful. It is two seats, a small boot, and the most engaging thing Aston builds — the car to book when the point of the day is the driving.
The DB11 is the grand tourer, and the model line the company is named for. Same V8 family, longer wheelbase, Aeroblade rear aerodynamics instead of a wing, and small rear seats that make it a genuine two-plus-two. It is the one to book when the day involves distance, luggage, or a passenger who would rather not shout over an exhaust.
Why an Aston in Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia has no shortage of Italian supercars for hire, and that is the argument for a British one. An Aston Martin is recognised without being obvious, which suits a wedding where the couple is the subject, a corporate arrival where the client is, or a drive where you would rather not collect an audience at every set of lights.
Practically, both cars sit higher than a mid-engine supercar and ride considerably better. Kuala Lumpur's speed bumps, hotel ramps and highway expansion joints are the real constraint on exotic hire here, and a front-engined GT deals with all three in a way a Huracán does not.
The practical part
Delivery is free anywhere in Kuala Lumpur and to both KLIA terminals — send a flight number and the car meets the arrival. Comprehensive insurance is included on every rental, with the excess stated in writing before signing. A security deposit is held against a card and released on return.
Self-drive requires a valid licence, with an international permit accepted, plus a passport or IC. A chauffeur can be added instead at no swap charge. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are quoted separately; the longer tiers are materially better value than the equivalent run of days.
