The Urus solved a problem that used to force a choice in Kuala Lumpur: you could have a supercar or you could have a car that copes with the city. Speed bumps, ramp angles, monsoon drainage and the climb to Genting all punish a low car, and most exotic rentals here spend their week being driven carefully rather than being driven.
The Urus does not have that problem. It clears everything, seats four adults properly, takes real luggage, and still runs to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds from a twin-turbo V8 that sounds like nothing else wearing an SUV body. It is the most versatile car in our fleet and, unsurprisingly, the most requested for multi-day bookings.
Where it makes sense. The Karak run to Genting Highlands is the obvious one — the Urus is quick enough to make the climb entertaining and composed enough that your passengers still enjoy it. Around the city it is genuinely easy: the ride in Strada mode is firm but civil, the visibility is SUV-normal, and parking it at Pavilion or KLCC is a non-event compared with a Huracán. For a wedding or a content shoot it photographs as aggressively as anything in the Adrenaline category.
What to know before booking. The Urus is a high-value vehicle and carries our upper-tier deposit and driver requirements — a licence held for a minimum period and a higher minimum age than our Elegance cars. Comprehensive insurance is included. Fuel consumption is what you would expect from 4.0 litres and two turbos, and we deliver it full.
Self-drive or chauffeur. Most Urus bookings are self-drive, because it is a car people want to drive. It is available with a chauffeur if it is going to a wedding or a corporate event where you would rather be a passenger.
