How a Day Rental Actually Works

The 24-hour window is rolling, not tied to a calendar day. Your booking is confirmed over WhatsApp, your documents are verified before the car leaves our hands, and the clock starts the moment delivery is complete. Mileage, deposit, and the return arrangements are all confirmed in writing so nothing is a surprise at return.

  • Mileage allowance — included kilometres cover typical city and Klang Valley use; excess billed per km, confirmed in writing.
  • Deposit release — a pre-authorisation hold, not a charge; released once the return inspection is clear — card issuer timing applies.
  • Late return — any extra time must be agreed with the concierge before it is used; an unannounced late return is chargeable.
  • Chauffeur add-on — request a private driver when booking if you prefer to be driven rather than drive.

It is a rolling 24-hour period counted from the moment the car is handed over to you. If delivery is at 10:00 on Monday, the return window opens at 10:00 on Tuesday. This applies regardless of the day of the week. Handover time is confirmed over WhatsApp before delivery and appears on your booking summary, so there is no ambiguity at return.
Each daily booking includes a set kilometre allowance sufficient for normal city use — covering the Federal Highway, Jalan Ampang, and runs to Putrajaya or Sepang with room to spare. Kilometres beyond the included allowance are billed at a fixed per-km rate, confirmed in writing before you collect the car. The odometer is photographed at handover and return to make any calculation transparent.
The deposit is a pre-authorisation hold on your card, not a charge — no money leaves your account at the start of the hire. Once the car is back and the return inspection is clear, VELO releases the hold. How quickly that money shows as available again depends on your card issuer; for a one-day rental the card provider typically processes it within a few business days.
Same-day delivery is usually possible across Kuala Lumpur once your documents are verified — KLCC, Bukit Bintang, KL Sentral, Mont Kiara, and elsewhere in the Klang Valley. The delivery window is agreed when the booking is confirmed, so you know exactly when to expect the car. Confirm availability first via WhatsApp: if the car is free and your documents are in order, we will lock in a window and send confirmation.
If you think you are going to be late, tell the concierge before the 24-hour mark. Any extra time is agreed and quoted before you use it — we confirm what is available and what it costs, and you continue from there. A return that arrives late without prior agreement is chargeable, so the earlier you flag it the better for everyone.
If you need the car for three or more days, weekly pricing will almost always work out cheaper per day than stacking individual daily bookings. A weekly rental also removes the pressure of the 24-hour return window — useful if your plans in KL are flexible or you want the car on standby for a run to Genting or Port Dickson mid-week. Ask the concierge to compare both options before you commit.
